I know someone famous

new_man is the one who knows famous people! But this time I get to say "I know him!" Van Marsh is a kid from a couple blocks uphill of my own childhood home. We were 5 or so years apart - so he graduated the year before I got into High School. But occasionally we shared school buses, and my family was friends with his family (moms played bridge).
He was always a terrifically cool person. I seemed to remember him protecting me when the meaner boys would try to make me cry because it seemed like fun. I was the crybaby for my earlier years, and Van would stick up for me. As a teenager I remember he was the good at everything guy - did good in a sport, Valedictorian, President of Student Council - but you just couldn't hate him - he was to nice.
I'm thrilled to see he's got a very cool career.
