I had a really awful Monday. So, now I'm writing down some good stuff to remember it:

- got on scale - it's ooking, slowly, downwards. No matter how I lean on it, it tells me I can't possibly be more than 189 pounds. In most positions it says more like 185! A new low!

- encouraged I tried on a pair of "not right now" pants from my college days. They are now wearable! No longer tight in the thighs! Sadly, I'm not so fond of the cut - it doesn't seem flattering now... so maybe time to discard them.

- cleaned up dance room in preparation for dancy, dancy with [livejournal.com profile] jezebelpussycat yay! dance class dance class dance class!!!

- got in on time! Document is reviewed and sitting on the document publisher's desk, and officially Not My Problem anymore. (at least for today)

- Folkware Flamenco Dress is now cut out, except interfacing, and sewing has begun.

- Have a clue for both my own solo and my duet with Pinky. Pinky tells me she learns fast - we'll see... I may have a fully digested duet by tomorrow's practice night.

- no obvious homework this week - He talked about the Intel processor, which I need to review some, and I should at least take gander at the next part of the project - but I can go away to Seraglio this weekend without guilt.

- got check from Somerville Arts Council for my Indian dance gig at their festival.

Still a bad monkey for not paying bills and balancing checkbook.

Usually [livejournal.com profile] new_man is the one who knows famous people! But this time I get to say "I know him!" Van Marsh is a kid from a couple blocks uphill of my own childhood home. We were 5 or so years apart - so he graduated the year before I got into High School. But occasionally we shared school buses, and my family was friends with his family (moms played bridge).

He was always a terrifically cool person. I seemed to remember him protecting me when the meaner boys would try to make me cry because it seemed like fun. I was the crybaby for my earlier years, and Van would stick up for me. As a teenager I remember he was the good at everything guy - did good in a sport, Valedictorian, President of Student Council - but you just couldn't hate him - he was to nice.

I'm thrilled to see he's got a very cool career.

Your Birthdate: May 7

You are an island. You don't need anyone else to make you happy.
And though you see yourself as a loner, people are drawn to you.
Deep and sensitive, you tend to impress others with your insights.
You also tend to be psychic - so listen to that inner voice!

Your strength: Your self sufficiency

Your weakness: You despise authority

Your power color: Maroon

Your power symbol: Hammer

Your power month: July

Umm... I guess so... I'm pretty independant, and I do like maroon.

A hammer? The last time they let me have a hammer, I destroyed my bathroom and broke the hammer. I don't think I should have a hammer.
