I started this live journal mostly to keep track of my performances and art projects, both inside and out of the SCA. "Lakshmi Amman" is my SCA persona name and my big thing is recreating a Vijayanagara Era woman - that's 16th century Southern India. I'm pretty active in the A&S and dance communities, as I do a bunch of textile arts and painting, and I seriously study both Bharata Natyam and belly dance. I'm also a research geek.

In the many years since this journal and I started, my love of India has grown past the boundaries of the SCA time period, into the modern day.

And my love of dance and performing and the folks I do it with has expanded into Burlesque, Belly Dance, and modern Indian dance shows from time to time.

At this point, this journal is my celebration and promotion of all those things.
