Another day
Dec. 14th, 2005 10:02 amLast night - class with Jez! YAy! We were going great guns - we went until 9:30. We were both very chatty, and we took a bit of extra time to give double helpings of the stuff we are working on, so she'll have a meaty chunk to work on while she's off in a tropical paradise for winter break. Finished Nattu Adavu Part 2, did 1st half of 1st refrain of yaare bandaravu (the famous real estate song), and a bunch of practicing. Must remember when she gets back to inflict Revenge of Alairippu on her. :) Not to let it slip out of long term memory... It's hard - we are still in the throes of major muscle work in the Adavus, so doing Alarippu as well is extra hard. I wasn't quite in the same shape - I had done tattu adavu alot, before I did Alarippu. And I learned Nattu Adavu while learning Alarippu, so the sequence is working a little different.
Most embarassing - the rhythm for the nattu adavu fell clean out of my head. After all my waxing eloquent on memorization skills, I suppose the universe had to come and show me who's boss. :) For my own record:
dai-yun, dat-ta, dai-yun, dah-ha
1--------2-------3--------4-----
is the phrase I was looking for. Now I just have to remember that I wrote it down here, and I should copy it into my dance note binder.
I was all perky after dance, but eating food stopped that... I went to bed early, which has done me much good. My body is trying to hibernate, I think. I'm hungry all the time, cold all the time, and sleepy irrespective to how much I've slept the night before. I think my body is freaking out, because it weighs 5-10 pounds less than it did last winter, and 20 pounds less than it did the winter before that. I think it's convinced it's gonna freeze... even though I still have plenty of insulation. Must. Fight. Urge to Eat... Holiday food isn't helping.
Dragged my lame ass out of bed this morning in time for some Baby Doll practice:
- Frosty - has turned into one damn sexy snowman. I'm feeling comfortable with this one.
- Let it Snow - well, me and the clothing have reached a compromise, but we still have some relationship building to do before tomorrow. The second time through saw me getting all the clothing on in time to do a little "voila!" finish, so maybe I have beaten it into shape. I also found that a twin-comforter, draped perpendicular to how it *should* go on a bed, seems to be giving me the heft and size I need without the bra-entrapping power of a knitted afghan. Will check with Scratch and see if that is an OK alternative...
With this hibernation thing my body is doing, maybe a routine that has me lying down in bed is not such a good idea. ;)
Also have a new spangly bra for this month on the block! or I can wear my new ruffly bra.. hmm... decisions, decisions...
Have started planning out next month already- I'm gonna do one of my pre-made peices for 8th wonder of the world, and then throw most of my baby doll time at doing a 3-person choreography - hopefully with Miss Mina and our new dancer - Raven. We'll be doing something Middle Eastern, and hopefully way cute. This will be fun, since I won't have to beat down my Middle Eastern tendencies! And, if I get my shit in gear before Sunday, I think we can put together something really snazzy.
