Post your odd, unusual, favorite, or embarrassing sandwich on your blog, and pass it on.

[livejournal.com profile] new_man mocks me for my lack of love for sandwiches. I really don't like the classic sandwich - too much bread (I'm not much for bread), often flavorless meat, and I'd rather have the greens in a salad. But I do admit there's a few good sandwiches out there. They just don't happen to be in my company cafeteria very often.

Part of my sandwich dislike is from my elementary through high school experience - where I ate a sandwich every day. I really disliked most school lunches, so I had sandwich from home. 90% of the time it was:

Lunch & dinner = healthy. Managed to go out for Japanese Fancy Buffet with [livejournal.com profile] wren13 and ate 1 plate of veggies and fish, 1 peice of sweet potato tempura, and 1 very small cup of green tea ice cream.

Then survived belly dance class brought to you be the letter S (for sweat), the letter F (for Femmy Egyptian) and the letter E (for Evil Anne). We tease Anne about being lots of evil wrapped up in an adorable package, but in reality, I'm very gladd she's kicking our butts. It's helping me clean up a lot of stuff that was going to pot.

Had a nice talk with the Dad on the way home. He let me rant a bit, which was wonderful.

Got up early! (ug) and practiced Indian dance. Having felt a little hypocritical on Tuesday when I made [livejournal.com profile] jezebelpussycat sweat and stomp it out, while I sat, sweat free, and clacked my sticks and kept her rhythm count, I decided to kick my own ass today. Did:

Finished up by going to the bakery for Friday breakfast (today's my day for the next few months). I went to the local Irish place, grabbed 10 rather evil-looking muffins, 10 Really Evil Danishes, and a loaf of raisin bread. Raisin bread it was for me. It was delicious.

OK, so in a fit of "I feel great about my body" energy, I decided to go out on a Denim Quest at lunch. This week was a bad pants week - I detroyed two pairs of favorite-pants, and so need to hop on getting at least two more, preferably fun-pants, not work-pants - I seem to have plenty of work clothes and not enough cool clothes.

So... I find this store in the Chestnut Hill Area - Anthropologie. Online it has nice looking jeans, like the ones I got in L.A. and destroyed 6 months ago. Vowing that Cute Pants Will Be MINE! I jump in the car and head down...

... only to realize I'm not so certain if it's in the Atrium Mall or the Chestnut Hill Mall. I drive from one to the other before I give up and go into Chestnut, only to find that the right pick was Atrium. OK... I finally park (stupid, stupid parking weenies!!!) and get a pile of things that might work. The store is dauntily small in the sizes, but I've come all this way... (stupid again - didn't check sizes online). Nope, nothing fits. I find (wonder of wonders) a nice, smart sales lady who says I'm out of luck, but that the catalogue does stock bigger sizes.

I quickly browse every other woman's store in the Atrium. They are either preppy or for tiny people. I stop being afraid of sales ladies, and just plod up, state my size, get a head shake and walk out. Grrr...

Giving up, consoling myself with the idea that I will be a Svelter Goddess soon, I head to Pho Ha for a salad and maybe a spring roll. I get seated, read the menu.... and simply can't concentrate. There is a bevy of screaming and squealing small children and far too few moms. The high pitches are reverberating off the shiny mall surfaces. I wait it out... surely they will move on... after about 7 minutes of mall + kids, I'm done. I want to scream. I just get up and leave. Should have apologized to Pho Ha.

So - nothing, nothing at all was accomplished by that. ARGH.

Finally got a nice wasabi salmon and veggies at Skipjack's. More pricey than I wanted, but it kept me from loosing it.
