As the day goes on...

Trip to oral surgeon - all good. Healing nicely, he says give it a month and we can implant. Scheduled that for Nov. 4th. Right now, I'm on the docket for going out again, not novicaine. Debating that idea in light of the fact that:
- a - none of my insurances pay for that, or the implant, so the whole procedure will run me $400-500 - not a life-ruining amount, but kinda sucky.

- b - it takes significant time from my loved ones. I need a ride there and back and a few hours of supervision after this. new_man is willing to help, despite leaving that night for New Orleans volunteer work.


Trip to Dance Supply store - upsetting. They are inexplicably closed today from noon on - so at 12:30, I was too late to get anything. They are open tomorrow, but that's cutting it close - assuming I can get the rest of the sequins onto my panties during an hour lunch break. It may be possible - I only need to look symmetric. But not optimal. Argh. But... driving around today on a wild quest for the Exact Same Sequins I have already sewn on halfway - not doable. Grr... I'm all about supporting small, non-chain stores - even though these folks are alot more expensive than online, the convenience of being able to see and buy, right then, no delayed gratification, is worth it. But - little businesses need to keep reliable hours!! Argh.

Swing Craving

Ah... listening to Hell from Squirrel Nut Zippers, Zoot Suit Riot from Cherry Poppin' Daddies, and Jump Jive an' Wail by the Brian Seltzer Orchestra, I'm reminded of how much I love swing style stuff. And how it seems to have gone out of vogue on pop radio. It started as just meandering for Baby Dolls - Out For Blood and the October show (trying to run ahead of the ball) - but now I'm just thinking about how much I like swing dancing and how it's been a long time since I did it regularly at all and how I miss my college partner - who was the assistant instructor at the class I used to go to.

Makes think of what can I do using actual Swing moves in a Baby Dolls Something... doing swing moves solo is pretty rough - it's really a pairs dance. I suppose to have a couple do it, we'd either need some schtick, or they'd have to be really showy and terrific. The latter rules me out - as I am too Glamazon proportioned for any of the really sensational lifts, unless you happen to be Vis... and we don't really have a schedule that supports me becomin Truly Phenomenal on ground work, so that a no-lift routine would fly.

But shtick... yes shtick... hmm... I'd readily dress as a guy in a Zoot Suit, if it meant I got to do swing. I'm a natural leader in ballroom, anyway, and I can reverse my brain to do the male part if the female is a good follower.

Can you do swing and remove your partner's clothing? Would the girl-as-guy being sexy thing transfer to big band clothing? There's a good story here... I just gotta find it...
