From 'fucked' to merely 'screwed'
Oct. 20th, 2005 09:28 amYesterday shit hit the fan - the due date came up for a document I haven't written, because I didn't have my eye on the ball. I'd love to blame this on my management's lack of help and lack of involvement in my work, but I have to admit that a Sr. Engineer should be more proactive about getting management help. You should be able to toss me a job and let me worry about it. And the fact that I fucked it up is simply my fault. I'm handling it now, but it means I have nothing resembling free time, or any latitude at work. So... you probably won't see me on LJ in the next week after this post. I simply can't afford the messing-around time. If you need me to know something - send me an email.
On the upside, after I pinged my prof for happenings from Monday's class (which I skipped for tech rehearsal with the Dolls), I found out the best news I've had all week:
CHANGE IN DATES
Project is pushed back to Halloween Eve - meaning, I assume, Oct. 30th.
Exame is pushed back to Nov. 7
That gives me a whole extra weekend for both. The project is still a challenge - I had more to do than I thought earlier in the week, and with strike on Saturday night, and a potential cast party on Oct. 30, the weekend is still pretty darn hosed. But... two weekends are better than one. So. Much. Better. And having the exam a week later means I have a whole non-Baby-Doll laden week to read and recover. I'm officially taking of Oct. 31, which means I may be able to do some catch-up reading and sleeping and still have a little time for some Halloween fun with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

So. I'm taking this simple 15 minutes to share that extremely fabulous news with you. Now pardon me as I go to write my fingers to the bone. This wouldn't be so awful if I hadn't hurt the side of my thumb yesterday. Hitting the spacebar hurts. MaybeI'lljustwritelikethis. :)
