So... realizing that summer war season is really here, and I'll be in the car a bunch, I thought it might be time for me to finally take a crack at some of those courses that [livejournal.com profile] jducouer speaks of:

http://www.teach12.com/teach12.asp

I looked through and found a handful that I like, but figure it's wise to start with one. Anyone have any recommendations?

- Terror of History: Mystics, Heretics, and Witches in the Western Tradition
- Life and Writings of C. S. Lewis
- Explaining Social Deviance

Are there tricks to the format of the courses that one may be better? Anyone have any of them and willing to loan them? These are all courses on sale, which was the plan.

I'm actually not totally disgusted by their non-Western collection. They don't have a lot on India, but they have some basic 101 stuff, that seems to be done pretty well. None is on sale, though, so I shall not indulge.

Ow.

OK. I admit it. [livejournal.com profile] new_man was right.

He was right, it's fine, I admit defeat. Getting a cavity filled is NOT easy. It may be easy compared to a root canal or a tooth extraction/implant - but it still f****cking hurts. Novicaine has worn off. Upper right side of face HURTS.

Currently debating sanity of leaving for Midsummer's tonight, v. staying home with ice pack and good book and going up tomorrow early morning. Will tough it out with this here wonderfully chilly bottle of Dasani water pressed up against my face while I read a technical proposal.

Yuck.

Undecided on whether pain or admitting [livejournal.com profile] new_man was right is more annoying.
