Well.. I seem to remember that this being my 3rd event in 3 weeks, I started the day a little toasty! But it was an AWESOME time - even with the blizzard.

I got to meet a lot of cool folks - over and over again, I heard myself thinking, or someone else saying "I'm really you (I) came - I'd never have talked to you otherwise". I think that we are all so busy and nearly frantic at Pennsic, that we never really have time to just hang out. And when we all have our "performer hats" on, we all seem to intimidating to introduce oneself too. There were just so many faces that I've seen for years, but never got to hang out with the way I did at this event.

The person who really stuck out for me was Aminah - we'd never met before, and yet by the end of the weekend, I ended up crashing her hotel room and feeling like an old friend. She's a common sense, no nonense sort of person, another computer geek chic, a violinist, and a persona enthusiast -- although I don't know if she'd call herself that. But she's done all sorts of neat research and shtick revolving around Middle Eastern stuff. It's very cool.

There were no classes, no formal performances, in fact no schedule whatsoever. And yet, I MUST put this as a dance entry in my journal because:
- I got to play TONS of new ME music with a gang of performers who offered lots of help!
- I got to learn some new dance moves, and teach a few dance moves
- I got to get a sense of what's coming up for ME dance planning at Pennsic, and put in my bid for a really ambitious class series.
- I sung kareoke after the party at our hotel. You really haven't lived until you see a bunch of folks who have dedicated countless hours to Middle Eastern dance, music and culture singing and dancing to the hits of the 70's, 80's, 90's and today. Really, really fun!

A must do. Praying it doesn't conflict with Arisia next year... it will truly be a toss up.

Praying even harder for less snow.
