Well... plans got a bit derailed last night, as [livejournal.com profile] jezebelpussycat got abruptly called into work and made to stay through our dinner plans. We did a post-work party at her place, complete with take-out Indian food, which lovely due to the lovely company of Padme and her sweetie, but someday - as god is my witness - I will make it to the Spice Bar at Masala Art. It's the kind of thing that reservations need to be made for about a week or more in advance, so I can't just waltz in when I'm feeling blue... Well... I can waltz in, but not for the Spice Bar.

Got a lovely Xmas gift from Padme - new fabulous hair that matches the locks I grow myself beautifully and is much more organized and nicely made than my current Dr. Seussian Rat/Tribble Thing that I'm wearing in my LJ picture. Must get little round box to keep it in, to keep it nice and safe.

Went to the office Xmas buffet. As I mentioned, there's a billion of them here at 'watch your butt get ever wider" corporation. I decided, with the added input of my waistline and personal schedule, to pick ONE party rather than eating my way through the season. I picked the local work group's party and we all hit the Newton Mariott buffet. Probably not my favorite buffet, but a nice choice for a work group whose tastes range from simple American to fancy-dancy-exotic gourmet. The chocolate mousse was damn tasty, and it definitely an I-need-this-mousse sort of day.

We finished up with a little Yankee swap. I am very pleased both with my own gift (Kendall Jackson Pinot Noir - 2000) and the reception of my gift. I gave the Pirate Ship cards. [livejournal.com profile] new_man and I love these things, as you not only get to assemble a little ship, but you get to play a game that involves going "ArrrGGGHHHHHhhhh!". I mean, how does it get better than that? But... my coworkers are strange and they don't always understand these simple pleasures. But I thought - I gotta be me, and I'd love getting these cards! They were actually swapped for once (it was a Yankee swap) and so I'm sure the receiver actually wanted them. She's excited to give them to her kids... yay! Infecting a new generation.

A quick hurrah for the power of voicemail messages. Yes, I suck at getting messages, but I do get them eventually. The past two days have been an emotional roller coaster for me, an the inevitable state of hormones is much to blame... but I'm sure the holidays are taking their toll, too. Three different voice mail messages from sweeties and friends have given me big grins at exactly the time I needed them. So... thank you guys.

What diameter do you need? Do you mind if it's pink and white and says "Victoria's Secret" on it?

Probably about 6" and 4-5" high - minimum. Plus an inch in either dimension wouldn't hurt...
