What a horrible rainy day here in MA. Feel lucky if you live in a part of the world with nice weather. This is the part of fall I'm not fond of. I love the dry crispy days full of colorful crackling leaves on the trees or on the ground. It makes me glad I live in New England. But my payback for that weather is this - gray skies, little natural light, a rain/drizzle/rain combo that makes everything damp, and a chill that doesn't go away no matter how well you bundle up. Blech, blech, blech.

Some folks like this weather, at least a few friends and coworkers have pronounced it great. Well.. it'd be great if I was home with an afghan, a cup of tea and another nice warm body to watch movies with. But, alas, I'm at work.

Did the school thing last night. Was pretty low energy. Talked a bunch about the project, got more of a clue. I have alot of project to do ... but feeling optimistic. I get a feeling, from the change in the prof's manner towards me that I did so well on the first round of grading that I am now the golden child. Or else he gleaned that I'm a mover and a shaker from a chat we had after class. Just talking about cirriculum and administrivia... but because I used to be the class coordinator for WPI/GD classes at the office, I have a pretty in-depth perspective. I have even more reading to do... not feeling so optimistic. Trying to sit down with the textbook instead of reading a fun book has been like pulling teeth. Will probably study to and from Thanksgiving on the plane.

Happily found out that the plane to Ft. Lauderdale doesn't leave until 4:00PM tomorrow. And I've already taken the day off! So... I get a whole bunch of hours that I'm not working and yet near home and can do whatever I like! Yay! Torn between taking some project-time while still on the home network, and playing hookey with [livejournal.com profile] new_man.

Just when I thought I got a break from document-writing, another document rears it's ugly head. This time, a test plan. It's not the whole test procedures, just an outline of what tests we will do and how all the requirements will be tested. Yuck. Still not particularly motivated. I miss the time when I actually liked my job.

If you give [livejournal.com profile] new_man orange floss, I'll make tassels while you're gone -- unless you were planning on them as in-flight entertainment.
