Air Conditioning.

Like the other Moombites, my primary impression of Midsummer's is heat. Mostly we drank water, and sweated. I also got [livejournal.com profile] lady_sprite into a sari/choli combo, and managed to fit a choli pattern to her, for future use. On Sunday, I found a way to put another fancy pendant chain on my Moon medallion and then came home to teach class to [livejournal.com profile] jezebelpussycat, who thankfully was running as late as I was. That gave me time to get the AC unit in my bedroom window and to take a shower, and be ready at the same time she and [livejournal.com profile] pax_industria arrived.

Slept in blessed AC. Ahh... the AC and the flushing toilet are neck in neck for things that give me joy.

Other news:
- new work project began Friday, wrap up with old project is now really done.
- still may have to travel anyway
- Padme and I are beginning to plan for a formal SCA-committed relationship at Pennsic
- school making me nutty with homework deadline and logistic issues
- class tonight for my other two dancing ladies
- tooth no longer sore - but still temperature sensitive

To do - must call oral surgeon and schedule the extraction. Need to decide whether or not to use serious anathesia or just be numbed up. Mostly a mental thing - not sure I want to be "there" for it... But not sure I want to have a long recovery. Must figure out when to do this. It doesn't help that I have two gigs in two weeks:
- June 18 - dancing ladies do Road Show - I am the singer! I really need my mouth for that!
- June 25 - the Palio - I do my final performance as Former Court Devadasi - I will sing something to accompany myself. Oy.

I was knocked out completely for my wisdom teeth (I have clinicly small mouth, so they took out all four, even thought they didn't hurt or anything) and was groggy for the rest of the day and little bit the next day. Mostly, I couldn't eat anything that required any sort of chewing for a week, but the anathesia part was fine (except for me declaring that we should "fuck OSHA" but that was a seperate issue.)

I was groggy after I had 3 wisdom teeth out under general, but clear-headed by the end of the day. (In pain, but clear-headed.)

I don't know if they'd knock you out completely for one extraction, or if your insurance would cover it, but if you can get it, go for it.

I went out for both my wisdom teeth and the transplant that caused this mess. Both on doctor's orders. This one seems more "if you really want to...". Not sure if my insurance will cover it - but the Dr.'s office is being pretty diligent about trying to save me money.

I'm almost at the point of thinking - "what the hell! Treat yourself!" - even if I can't get the insurance to pay...

Theoretically - if I don't get knocked out, I could be up and about on a mellow level the day after. If I do get knocked out, I should plan a day of dopy recovery.

the insurance has to cover the anesthesia. If you tell your dentist you want general, and that is what you have had on doctor's order's before, then they will um, fix the intelligence around the policy.

I also got [info]lady_sprite into a sari/choli combo

I am amused. [livejournal.com profile] lady_sprite is not only not [livejournal.com profile] ladysprite, she appears to be the mirror-universe version of her...

Ooops!

Boy, wouldn't a neat feature for LiveJournal be a way to "make link to friend here", with a pull down list of your friends in your friends list? I have had similar challenges remembering the underscore's for new_man and mermaidlady. Not even sure I got 'em right this time.
